The Sigma Chi Fraternity would like to welcome you to the renowned Derby Days of 2009 at the University of California Los Angeles. Throughout the years, Derby Days has proven to be not only an exciting inter-sorority competition, but also a successful philanthropic endeavor benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF). HCF is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to maximizing resources to support the research, education, and treatment at Huntsman Cancer Institute in Utah. The HCF helps to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors and their families across the world.
Derby Days, as it has come to be known, originated at the Sigma Chi chapter at the University of California, Berkeley in 1916. Hailed as the “premier social event at Cal,” and drawing crowds upwards of 5000 people, the “Channing Way Derby” set the stage for what is now Sigma Chi’s largest Philanthropic project. Derby Days is conducted by Sigma Chi’s across the country and since 1992 it has raised over $3 million for various philanthropies.
Sigma Chi and Derby Days seek to bring together the sororities at UCLA in a competitive yet fun filled atmosphere. The tentative dates for The Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Chi's Derby Days is May 25th to May 28th. More details concerning Derby Days will be posted in the weeks leading up to the eve
